2021 Fuck Wall Street Show: I Innovated A New Model for Art Exhibitions
Learn how I created a new kind of art exhibition and solved some of the discrimination problems which are rampant in the art world.
In order to understand what my 2021 Fuck Wall Street show was all about, it’s probably best to watch this video by Lambie. You can read the original article from 2021 here.
In March of 2021 I built and organized the Fuck Wall Street art show in my Voxels gallery and innovated a completely new type of art show.
The art world is in drastic need of innovation as most of it is designed by uptight idiots, and rarely is it designed by artists themselves. With the arrival of the metaverse, we see this irl gallery model being disrupted as artists can now become gallery owners themselves, and decide what art gets seen by the public. I like to curate other artists’ art and organize cutting-edge exhibitions that include everyone. Despite the scams, WAGMI empire, the clout-chasing fools in the NFT space, there still remain a few us dedicated to the crypto ethos, decentralization and artist autonomy.
I designed a completely new model of art exhibition in 2021, and want to share it with everyone in the hopes that more galleries adopt my new model. I was told one art gallery already has adopted it: ImnotArt in Chicago. I would love to see more galleries experiment with new models.
So, let’s get to it.
My concept is simple and yet powerful because it solves one of the most irritating and persistent problems that plagues the art world: unless you’re a white dude, good luck getting your art seen. You will most likely be lumped into those depressing “All Female Art Shows”.
C’mon, that is not what we want.
My new exhibition design solves many problems at once.
On March 6, 2021 I built and organized an art exhibition called Fuck Wall Street in Voxels. I innovated a brand-new exhibition model: one gallery was a community art show, with all art submissions displayed and the other adjoining gallery was a curated show, hand-picked by me. I was told later that my Fuck Wall Street Show design influenced ImnotArt to make their art shows in a similar way.
What is A Community Show?
A community art show is one in which all submissions are exhibited in a gallery show. Literally no one gets left out of a community art show. Because you may receive a large amount of submissions, you can always cap the number at 200 or something. You can use a time window as well to limit the number of submissions.
Everyone who submitted art for my Fuck Wall Street Show got their art exhibited in the community gallery. I packed the gallery frame to frame, with hardly any space in between the art. It ended up looking a lot like a graffiti wall, or some community building in a square….and people were very happy to be included. It really solved a lot of problems, especially in regards to the recent fiasco on the part of Sotheby’s choosing an all-male lineup.

What’s a Curated Show?
A curated show is one that a curator hand picks. Curated shows are what everyone is familiar with, and curated shows are one reason why those who are not white dudes get left out of fame and wealth. The people who are choosing the art for galleries seem to me to be ignorant white dudes. This is where the problem begins. But I have this solution…..if they would just do the work. lol.
So for my Fuck Wall Street curated gallery, I picked my favorite art and displayed it. It had a diverse mix of artists, mainly because I chose the art based on the art alone. The curated gallery was connected to the community art gallery, so you could go from one building to the next easily. The artists I chose for the curated building were: Josie Bellini, Miss Al Simpson, Pascal Boyart, myself, Robness, Lambie and a few others.
My Fuck Wall Street Collection
My best art in that show was Grimes Gamestop (shown at top) which Uncle Bitcoin bought, and essentially he single-handedly paid me for all my work organizing with that one purchase….most of my Fuck Wall Street art can be seen here
I made one of my highest sales at that show with this art titled, Roaring Kitty which sold for 3.25 ETH. Two years later, some of my art hadn’t sold so I donated ROBBINGHOOD to the Museum of Freedom.
Money Art: Real Art Sent to Winners
Throughout my metaverse exhibition, there were 7 different hand-painted moneyart bills hidden in various locations. When people found one of these, they clicked on it and a Survey Monkey form opened. People were instructed to write why they wanted the money art. The best answer for each piece of moneyart won. Those with the best answers had their moneyart mailed to their physical address.
Lambie Creates The Fuck Wall Street Promo
For the promo, I asked Lambie if we could use her art, since honestly, I think hers was the absolute best. Her art, piece of cake :) that Robness ended up buying is shown above.
Marjan Moghaddam Sells Crypto Art Rides the Bull for 10 ETH
Shown above is a still image from the glitched animation titled Crypto Art rides The Bull by Marjan Moghaddam. Marjan’s art was the main feature and placed at the entrance of my gallery. Later, it ended up selling to punk4156 for 10 ETH on Super Rare.
And on the top of the building Marjan Moghaddam built a voxel model based off her glitch art that stood on Wall Street, on top of the bull.
Money Printer
For this show, I designed a money printer that started on the top of the curated show and extended to the roof of the community art gallery.
Great article Stella :)
Great article!
